近年急増している心不全など心疾患の予後を改善するため、根本的原因である「心臓老化」を診断する手法が求められる。これまで、安静時の心拍数ゆらぎ（Heart Rate Variability, HRV）データを心臓成分と自律神経成分へと非侵襲的に分離し、HRV心臓成分が老化や心疾患と関連して変化することを見出した。本研究では、こうした動物実験によって得られた成果をヒト用発展させ、臨床応用を目指す。
