Outline of Research at the Start

新しい疾患概念である好酸球性副鼻腔炎や好酸球性中耳炎などの好酸球性炎症は、難治性で重症気管支喘息の合併や聾などの高度難聴の原因となり大きな問題である。近年炎症の遷延化の機序としてアポトーシスと異なる新しいプログラム細胞死であるEosinophilic Extracellular DNA trap cell death(EEtosis) が注目されているが、難治性好酸球性炎症疾患の病態はまだ不明である。好酸球性炎症疾患における炎症の重症化と遷延化の病態におけるEETosis関与と関連する新規分子を標的とした治療方法の開発が本研究の目的である。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In EOM, ETosis-derived DNA traps/cytolytic Eo are common feature and major structural components within the middle ear effusions. These findings may allow us to speculate that excess formation of extracellular DNA traps might contribute to the increased viscosity of the middle ear effusions and potential therapeutic target.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

ETosisによって生じるDNA trapsの好酸球性炎症疾患における存在や、その性状について検討を加える予定である。ETosisに関与する分子を明確にすることで、関与する分子を標的とした治療方法の独創的で新規性のある治療戦略の展開が期待される。
