Outline of Research at the Start

情報通信環境は,5GとHTTP/3からなる次世代通信環境に移行しようとしている.5Gは超高速大容量などの機能を有し,かつ柔軟にサービスを提供でき単一端末に超高スループットを提供することも可能である.また,今後はHTTP/3を用いた通信が多くなると予想される.しかし,HTTP/3を用いた場合はその輻輳制御(通信出力速度制御)機能により超高速通信を実現できないことがあるという問題がある.
本研究では,5GとHTTP/3からなる次世代通信環境における深層学習を活用した超高速通信の実現を目的とする.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究開発当初,情報通信環境は第5世代移動通信システムとHPPT/3(Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 3)からなる次世代通信環境に移行しようとしていた.
本研究では,第5世代移動通信システムとHPPT/3からなる次世代通信環境における深層学習(Deep Learning)を活用した超高速通信の実現を目的とし,この目的のために,第5世代移動通信環境に適したHTTP/3輻輳制御手法の確立と,同手法と搭載したシステムの開発を行うことを目的として研究を進めてきた.
そして,深層学習,輻輳制御手法(特に用の輻輳制御手法),これら手法を搭載システムの開発が達成された.
深層学習については,単純に性能が高いハイパフォーマンスを実現できるにとどまらず,深層学習のブラックボックスの問題を打破する解釈性があり説明可能な深層学習システムの構築を達成した.また,解釈性を活用したシステムの改善手法も実現した.輻輳制御に関しては,近年広く使われているCUBIC TCP (transmission control protocol)やTCP BBR の大幅な改善を達成し,性能向上(スループット向上)にとどまらず,アルゴリズム間の公平性の向上なども達成した.特にHTTP/3の性能について深く考察し,性能向上を実現した.また,オープンソースのシステム(Linuxやオープンソース HTTPクライアントやHTTPサーバ)を活用し,これら手法を搭載したシステムの開発を実現した.

当初の目的は達成できた。
また、この数年間は国際会議などのオンライン開催が行われ、当初予定よりも少ない予算で研究発表を行うことができた。
これにより より多くの研究を実施し、より多くの研究成果を出すことができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

研究(特に手法の開発)はおおむね成功しており,今後は提案手法のシステムへの実装を進めるとともに、それら実装を用いて性能評価を進めていく。
