本研究では、ルビやわかち書き、句読点といった日本語表記を取りあげ、定住外国人はどのような表記が見やすくわかりやすいと考えているのか、印象判定による調査とインタビュー調査を行う。また、各要素の表記方法の読み時間の調査と理解度調査から日本語表記の問題を明らかにし、見やすくわかりやすい日本語表記の方法を提案する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examined how different aspects of Japanese writing, such as ruby characters, punctuation, and word segmentation, affect readability for resident foreigners and international students. Through impression surveys, reading time measurements, and interviews, it identified features of easy-to-understand Japanese writing. Analyses of beginner-level textbooks and “Easy Japanese” guidelines also led to practical suggestions for improving Japanese notation.
