Outline of Research at the Start

本科研では,日本人中国語学習者の相互コミュニケーション能力を向上させるため,日本人学習者に対して,(1)単音レベルの音程知覚,(2)語レベルの声調知覚・産出,(3)文レベルの韻律知覚の能力を測定する。特に,韻律課題では視線計測の手法を使って,文中から文末への中国語の韻律情報の理解について検討する。以上の3つの能力の関係から,日本人中国語学習者の音程から声調そして韻律という流れで音韻的な理解を考察し,現場の教育に活用する。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study enhances communication among Japanese learners of Chinese by elucidating upon the mechanisms of phonological processing in Chinese. Focusing on an understanding of pitch and tones, their cognitive processing in Chinese production and perception were investigated through Chinese language proficiency tests and psycholinguistic experiments. It was shown that for Japanese learners to accurately and rapidly produce and perceive oral Chinese, the prosody of Chinese expressions and the phonological similarity of Chinese and Japanese characters are all related to Chinese language proficiency. Based on the findings obtained in this study, we propose effective teaching and learning methods to improve communication skills through accurate pitch, tones, and prosody.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

漢字知識を有する日本人学習者にとって,声調を含む音声を介した中国語の産出と知覚は中国語習得の際に直面する主要な課題である。そこで,日本人中国語学習者の音韻処理のメカニズムを言語心理学の実験法を応用して実証的に考察した。本課題は,現場の中国語教育に応用し,より効果的な言語教育プログラムの構築および言語処理に関する研究を展開するという課題に挑戦している。本課題を推進するにあたり,各種の中国語能力を測定するためのテストも開発して無料でWeb上に公開し,誰でも活用できるようにした。さらに,SSCI国際誌への投稿,国際・国内の学会での発表などの研究活動を通して,本課題を国際的に発信した。
