触穢（ケガレ）の観念は、平安期の公家社会で制度としての確立を見たが、それはその後の中近世における触穢とどのような連続性或は非連続性を持つのか。本研究はその連接点として、平安期末以降、神社毎に独自の触穢規定が設けられるようになる動きに着目し、それらの触穢規定（諸社服忌令）の成立過程を考えることで、古代から中近世社会へと至る触穢観念の長期的展開を再考するものである。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the Japanese ancient times, law about the impurity that compiled a notice matter on the occasion of the deities of heaven and earth religious service is established as part of maintenance of the national religious service courtesy, and I hang it in the peaceful term end, and the original law begins to be confirmed afterwards in each Shinto shrine. In the first place, as the background, as for finally judging it, basic understanding to be God existed in a judgment about the impurity in addition to the accumulation of the precedent which began to become corrupt in every Shinto shrine in the Imperial Court. During the same period, as for God, there is a change of the recognition called the thing which is stationed to a Shinto shrine, and it is thought deepening of the recognition to "individuality" of God whom each Shinto shrine worships it and establishment of the law about the official notice as the thing which a judgment is given to for each in its turn God.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、従来、『文保記』など中世期における一部のそれを除いてはあまり着目されてこなかった、諸社服忌令について、平安期末から鎌倉期にかけてのその成立背景を検討したものである。もともとは朝廷で成立した触穢規定の一元的な運用がおそらくは想定されていながら、何故当該期において、触穢規定が朝廷からのある種の「自立」を遂げてゆくのか。検討を通して、この問題は、朝廷の求心力の低下や神社の権門としての自立といった、政治的側面からだけでなく、神をめぐる観念上の変化からも説明されるべきことが明らかになったところである。
