The purpose of this research is to explore the relations between the influence factors and the structure and functioning of Japanese-Partner Agency international research collaborations.

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examined researchers’ knowledge and perspectives on challenges influencing the development of international research collaborations between Japanese researchers and their international collaborators from around the world. The study results indicate three suggestions “harmonizing research and education policies,” “advancing broader stakeholder engagement,” and “understating challenges relating to Research Integrity” to refine the international research collaborations between Japan and the collaborating nations. The Principal Investigator could refine the research method of this study based on the feedback from the scholars and professionals. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the principal investigator was selected as one of the fellows in the inaugural Japan-U.S. Science Communication & Policy Fellowship Network Program to promote meaningful cooperation between Japan and the United States on global challenges by bridging a critical gap between science and policy.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
This study results will be beneficial to individual researchers and key stakeholders to be aware of emerging challenges relating to “Research Integrity” in international research collaborations and understand how to advance research policies and explore for administrative support interventions.
