Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
For open quantum systems coupled to environment, non-Hermiticity may induce unique phenomena which are not observed in closed systems. In this project, we have addressed correlation effects on non-Hermitian topology. The obtained results are as follows. (i) We have elucidated that correlations induces robustness/fragility of exceptional points against interactions. The robustness/fragility arises from the reduction of number of possible topological structures by interactions. (ii) Interplay between spin-charge separation and nonreciprocal hopping leads to novel non-Hermitian skin effects which we dub non-Hermitian Mott skin effects. Specifically, we have demonstrated the emergence of non-Hermitian Mott skin effects by analyzing Bose-Hubbard model with particle loss.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
