Outline of Research at the Start

ポリアミンは穀類、大豆製品や肉類など多様な食材に含まれる化合物であり、近年様々な健康効果があることが知られ始めている。本研究の研究ターゲットとなる、肥満は特に先進国で問題となっており、様々な疾患に関与するため、健康寿命を縮小する原因の一つになっている。そこで、本研究は、抗肥満効果という観点からポリアミンの有用性を明らかにする。また、ポリアミンの作用メカニズムを抗生物質や網羅的解析により調べることで、栄養生理学の発展にも貢献することができると考えられる。
