Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,一過性の運動や栄養摂取がもたらす脳循環代謝機能への効果と習慣的な運動・食生活がもたらす脳循環代謝機能への効果のカップリングを検証する.
具体的には,認知機能の一つである実行機能を急性的に向上させる作用を持ち,併用することでさらなる実行機能の向上が期待できる有酸素性運動(Tsukamoto et al. Med Sci Sports Exer. 2017),レジスタンス運動(同 PLoS One. 2017),ココアフラバノール(同 Nutrition. 2018)に焦点を絞り,この三種類の介入を行う.これにより,単回の効力に強弱をつけ,その急性効果と慢性効果の因果関係を検証する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

習慣的な運動が脳のアンチエイジング効果をもたらすことは通説になりつつあるものの,その効力を効果的に引き出す理論に基づいたプログラムは確立されていない.近年,一過性の運動などによって向上する認知機能や脳循環代謝の作用機序解明に向けたアプローチを行うことで,理論に基づいたブレインヘルスケアプログラムを構築しようとする動きが活発になっている(塚本および橋本.体育の科学.2020など).しかしながら,その急性効果が習慣的に繰り返されることで,慢性的にどのような影響を与えるかに関しては不明瞭なままである.本研究では,一過性の運動や栄養介入などによって一時的に向上する認知機能などのブレインヘルスケアの効力が,習慣的に繰り返されることで慢性的なステータスに反映されるのか検証することを目的としている.
2022年度は,一過性の低酸素暴露と14日間の低酸素暴露,低酸素環境居住者の脳循環指標や認知機能を調査し,その関係性を検証した国際共同研究成果を学術論文としてJournal of Physiologyに発表した.加えて,COVID-19の影響による実験中止の可能性を考慮し,習慣的に摂取することで認知機能を向上させる効力が見込まれている中鎖脂肪酸の栄養介入に変更し,認知機能と生理指標の急性反応と慢性適応の関連性の検証に着手し始めた.なお,介入前の急性反応(運動と栄養の併用)のデータ解析など,今取り組むことができる解析については完了している.引き続き介入後のデータをまとめ,一過性の反応と慢性効果の関連性を検討する予定でいる.

Reason

2021年度はCOVID-19の影響を強く受け,遅れ気味ではあったものの,2022年度には研究計画を練り直すとともに予備実験を完了し,測定・介入など着手し始めることができた.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続きまずは測定・介入を進める.2023年度中には60名分の測定・介入を完了し,データをまとめる.その後,国際学会での発表を経て,学術論文として発表することを目指す.
