Outline of Research at the Start |
家畜福祉(アニマルウェルフェア)の高揚により、ニワトリの正常行動の発現を担保する放し飼いシステムへの移行が、世界中で始まっている。しかし、そこでは、ニワトリが元来有している高い攻撃性が発現し、それにより共喰い(カニバリズム)などの問題行動が多発している。本研究では、我が国が有する貴重なニワトリリソースを用いて、最先端の解析技術を駆使することにより、ニワトリが有する攻撃性の遺伝基盤を明らかにする。また、それを基に、いつどのように家畜化が始まったのかの起源を探索する。

2022年度は、攻撃性が著しく異なる集団の全ゲノムシークエンスおよびRNA-seqを実施し、それらをバイオインフォマティクスにより解析して、候補遺伝子の抽出を行った。

全ゲノムシークエンス情報については、さらにサンプルを追加して、再解析を行う。DNA-seqおよびRNA-seqから得られる候補遺伝子のリストを基に、攻撃行動の分子メカニズムとしてありうる仮説を検討する。
