Outline of Research at the Start

自由行動中において、脳深部を含む脳広域の機能ネットワークを評価することは容易でない。本研究では、超音波を用いた新たな脳機能イメージングを用いて、げっ歯類の自由行動中の脳機能ネットワーク計測を確立する。確立した技術により、運動リハビリテーションに関わる脳機能ネットワークを明らかにし、将来的に機能回復を効率的に促進する新たなニューロリハビリテーション法の開発につなげる。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we used ultrafast Doppler ultrasound imaging to measure brain blood flow in awake mice with high spatiotemporal resolution, extracting functional networks including deep brain regions. Resting-state networks were identified via independent component analysis and validated against MRI results. High-resolution vascular imaging and neural activity markers confirmed the structural and functional validity of ultrasound measurements.

学術的意義:超音波を用いた高時空間分解能の脳機能ネットワーク計測技術を確立し、覚醒下の脳深部機能の評価を可能にした点で学術的に意義深い。MRIと比較した信頼性検証や血管イメージング、神経活動指標との整合性確認により、超音波による脳機能評価の新たな標準技術としての基盤を築いた。これにより、神経科学や脳疾患研究における動的かつリアルタイムな脳機能解析の発展に寄与する。
