Outline of Research at the Start

本共同研究は、世界の鉱業が目指す“2050年の低炭素型自動化・無人化鉱山操業”を牽引する次世代鉱山デジタルツインテクノロジーを開発するものである。自動化および無人化が最も必要とされる発破現場の切羽と発破起砕物を対象に、3次元形状復元などの多次元情報処理と深層学習に代表される人工知能を統合することでCyber-Physical Blastingプラットフォームを構築する。その中で多様な発破シミュレーションおよび検証実験を繰り返し、モックパイル粒度分布推定や発破デザインなどの自動化システムを実装することにより、最適発破計画、発破効率向上、生産率向上、生産管理および安全管理を実現とする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本共同研究は、世界の鉱業が目指す“2050年の低炭素型自動化・無人化鉱山操業”を牽引する次世代鉱山デジタルツインテクノロジーを開発するものである。自動化および無人化が最も必要とされる発破現場の切羽と発破起砕物(モックパイル)を対象に、3次元形状復元などの多次元情報処理と深層学習に代表される人工知能を統合することでCyber-Physical Blastingプラットフォームを構築する。その中で多様な発破シミュレーションおよび検証実験を繰り返し、モックパイル粒度分布推定や発破デザインなどの自動化システムを実装することにより、最適発破計画、発破効率向上、生産率向上、生産管理および安全管理を実現とするものである。
本研究チームは、鉱業界で世界随一の規模と研究体制を誇るの研究教育コンソーシアムMining Education Australiaと関わりが深く、MEAが推し進める“未来のスマートマイニングに資する共同研究”に、本研究の研究成果である高度ICTを導入することで国際共同研究開発を加速・推進した。国内外の先進的な研究者で組織された学際研究チームが、上記コンソーシアムや海外資源採掘企業と緊密に連携しながら研究開発を実施することにより、実用化の先鞭を付けること目指した。
3年目である2023年度は10名の若手研究者(修士学生)をCurtin大学、Queensland大学へ1カ月派遣した。また、Curtin大学からはオーストラリア側対応者であるHyongdoo Jang氏を日本に招聘し研究打合せと講演を実現した。さらにブリスベンで開催されたWorld Mining Congressに3名の関係学生を派遣し、学会発表や懇親を行う等の十分な交流を実現した。国内では研究項目である人工知能による発破デザイン最適化システムを開発して。

Reason

他の獲得予算も組み合わせ、当初予定の3倍程度の人材交流が可能となった。また、共同研究においても有効な現場データを得て、計画以上の成果を示せた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

来年度は、資源採掘作業のVR空間生成とそれを用いた疑似作業体験の実現および現場での効果的なARによるデジタルツイン技術の開発を目指す。広大な採掘現場を隅々まで正確に記述したCGモデルを生成するためには、膨大な計測コストおよびデータ量が必要である上に、生成したCGモデルをレンダリングするための専用計算機が必要であり、実利用上現実的とは言い難い。本研究課題では、現場の忠実なコピーを目指すのではなく、“採掘作業にとって再現が必要な要因のVR・AR提示”に着目した研究開発を展開する。多視点全方位映像から得られる光線情報とIBMRによって復元した3次元形状を適応的に組み合わせることにより、互いの長所を活かしたVR・AR空間構築技術を開発する。
