Research Abstract |
In this project, we are attempting to understand in vivo roles of versican (Vcan), a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan in the extracellular matrix, in maintenance of tissue structure and several pathological conditions. By analyzing Vcan conditional knockout mice with adenoviral cre expression systems, we found that Vcan facilitatesgranulation during wound healing and suppress growth of transplant tumor.
