Research Abstract |
To examine the cross-cultural influences between Byzantine art and Western medieval art, our team conducted intensive field research in Paris, London, Siena, Parma, Fidenza, Florence, and Athens.Through painstaking comparative work, we were able to identify new iconographical and stylistic characteristics in illuminated manuscripts, frescos, bas-reliefs, and ivory sculptures.
