Research Abstract |
Using a motion image processing technique called “Dynamic Texture”, a classification method for different characteristics included in terrain image sequences (soil types, slippage between terrain surface and the wheels, etc.) captured by an on-board camera of planetary exploration rover was proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method was finally demonstrated through experiments using a two-wheel test-bed rover.
