Research Abstract |
We investigated the effects of perinatal exposure to bisphenol A (BPA), nonylphenol (NP) and genistein (GNS) on learning and memory function, general activities and emotionality in male SD offspring rats, using a battery of behavioral tests. Perinatal exposure to NP and GNS specifically improved, but low-dose BPA specifically impaired spatial learning and memory in male offspring rats. These results suggest that the effects to estrogenic endocrine disruptors on learning and memory function correlate to their estrogenic activities.
