Research Abstract |
We found some host risk factors for significant increase in bioaccumulation of oral cadmium in life-stage and lifestyle using mice. Pregnancy and lactation increased renal accumulation of oral cadmium in female mice. Moreover, essential metal deficiency such as calcium and iron at a period of growth and vigorous exercise also increased its renal accumulation. An increase in bioaccumulation of oral cadmium may be involved with intestinal expression of essential metal transporters.
