Research Abstract |
Tanka, haiku, senryu poems are collected and analyzed in social history perspective from Japanese language newspapers (1906~1952) and from documents written in the WWII internment camps in the U.S. Personal letters from Isso Shimoyama (a leading free haiku poet) to his families (1906~1935) are transcribed.
