Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We examined, focusing on G. E. Moore's theory of judgment, what made up the British New Realism in the 20th century. Moore criticized Kant for his inconsequence to the effect that a dogma of empiricism had blocked Kant's Transcendentalism. In order to realize Kant's project, Moore advocated his new theory of judgment which ascribes truth to the combination of non-temporal concepts. We showed that Moore consequently had a bizarre opinion about contingent propositions and fell in a predicament, which Bertrand Russell's theory of descriptions could resolve, distinguishing constituents of a proposition from the things which the proposition is a propositon about.
