Research Abstract |
This research examines the state intervention, religious administration, and the relationship between the state and religion in contemporary Thailand. We found that the Thai government uses religion for not only national integration based on religious nationalism but also as an administrative resource for education, welfare, sightseeing, and multi-cultural policy. While the government restricts religious activities to some extent, religions do have chances to enter into the public domain.
