Research Abstract |
In an attempt to explore how African-American literature and arts of the post-memory generation have represented the historical trauma of American slavery, this study focused on Toni Morrison’s influence on Kara Walker’s visual arts, or the interaction of their imaginations, and illuminated the ways in which both artists work on the crucial issues of representing traumatized history in the contemporary world.
