Research Abstract |
In this study, as part of a study of synchronic side of grammaticalization, I investigated how epistemic modality and objective modality had been grammaticalized in contemporary Japanese, focusing my concentration on interacting with temporal categories (i.e., tense and temporal localization) and textual structure in pragmatic use of language.
