Research Abstract |
In this study I researched at Cambridge University Library notes written by Aston and Satow on the Kokugaku(or the study of ancient Japanese thought and culture) books which belong to Aston Collection; Reinomahashira, Koshityo, Tamatasuki, Nyugakumondo, Suzunotamagushi, Zokushintotaii, Kuzubana, Kishinshinron, Kokinyomiko, Maganohire, Noritoko, Noritoseikun, Oharaekotobakoshaku, Izumonokuninomiyatukokanyogotokoshaku, Tamakushigebeppon. As the result, I found the fact tha they energetically studied the books by Motoori Norinaga, Kamono mabuchiand Hirata Atsutane. Especially they highly appreciated Atsutane.
