Research Abstract |
In this research, we developed scales for assessing beliefs, values, dispositions, affect, and attitudes to mathematics for teachers and students in elementary schools. In order to develop scales for assessing beliefs, values, dispositions, affect, and attitudes to mathematics for teachers and students, we carried out two tests on a total of 137 teachers and 332 6^th grade students in elementary schools. We then conducted exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis on the results of two tests. After analyses, we clarified the following. 1) The relationships among 5 factors withinteachers, 2) The relationships among 5 factors within students, 3) The relationships among5 factors between teachers and students, 4) How do teachers’ trainings and teachers’ research classes influence 5 factors for teachers? 5) How do classes of 5^th grade “the decimal multiplied by the decimal, the decimal divided by the decimal” influence 5 factors for students?
