Research Abstract |
For the Type1 diabetes mellitus pupils and students who are under my care, frequencies and severlities of the hypoglycemia in school, hypoglycemia unawerness, and the effect of the newly introduced insulins were investigated. Continuous glucose monitoring were also studied. Interviews by the telephone or meeting to teachers were carried out. Hypoglycemia before lunch and after excercise were found to be problematic, and the fall of QOL accompanying them was also observed. The possibility about the glucagon injectionby the teacher in a school was also investigated. Parents' psychological burden, the problem in school were investigated in three siblings of Type1 diabetes mellitus, and it was shown clearly that early sufficient psychologic support is important.
