Research Abstract |
Zigzag-chain antiferromagnet MnWO4 has two ferroelectric phases in magnetic fields along easy axis. Surprisingly, the two ferroelectric phases have opposite spontaneous electric polarization each other without fail. In the present study, we succeed to clarify its macroscopic mechanism through the inverse Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya mechanism.
