Research Abstract |
New ternary transition metal tellurides with quasi-one-dimensional structure have been synthesized. Niobium ions are octahedrally coordinated and the NbTe6 octahedra share faces forming an infinite one-dimensional chain. Magnetic ions exist in these one dimensional chains. The electrical and magnetic properties of the obtained compounds show metallic behavior.
