Research Abstract |
Intramolecular Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction of the substrates (ArO)2P(O)CH2CO2…CHO gave the 12- to 18-membered-ring Z-lactones highly selectively. While, the substrates (RO)2P(O)CH2CO2…CHO gave the E-lactones highly selectively. The synthesis of a macrolactin A derivative was performed by this method.
