Research Abstract |
To visualize the microglial cells in the brain using positron emission tomography (PET), the development and preclinical evaluation of purinergic receptor PET ligands have been demonstrated. P2Y12 receptor ligand [11C]clopidogrel and adenosine A2a ligand [11C]TMSX have been investigated, however both ligands fail to detect the microglial cells in the brain.
