Research Abstract |
The stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHRSP) is a genetic model rat for essential hypertension. We previously identified that a region of chromosome 1 harbored a gene (or genes) responsible for exaggerated stress response in SHRSP. In the present study, we narrowed down the region to 1.2 Mbp and found a strong candidate gene that had a truncation in SHRSP.
