Research Abstract |
We performed a simulation study in eight lung cancer patients, and concluded functional image-guided radiotherapy planning based on low attenuation area (LAA) in IMRT or IMAT appeared to be effective in preserving a functional lung in lung cancer patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). After that, Hiroshima University Hospital Review Board approved this study, and we collected data of 4D-CT, pulmonary perfusion image, pulmonary function of lung cancer patients who received radiotherapy to determine optimal functional imaging.
