Research Abstract |
During regeneration after ductal obstruction of Stensen-s duct, manystem cells were observed in the duct-like structures in the rat parotidgland. Regeneration of the parotid gland occurs rapidly through anappearance of stem cells. Temporarily increase in sympathetic nerves wasrecognized around the duct-like structures. These results suggest that thesympathetic nerves play an important role in regeneration of rat parotidglands.
