Research Abstract |
Implantable scaffolds of the chemical synthesis of collagen model polypeptides consisting of a Pro-Hyp-Gly [poly(PHG)] sequence for tissue regeneration need to be biodegradable, have no ability to induce inflammation and to act as a scaffold for cell proliferation and differentiation. The combining poly(PHG) and alpha-tricalcium phosphate particles, or mesenchymal stem cells showed extremely rapid bone regeneration in a calvarial defect model in mini-pigs.
