Research Abstract |
Progress in lighting technology has opened new possibilities of lighting design. Lighting design must produce not only visual clarity by bright light, but also appropriate psychological effects to our living environment. The objective of this research was to provide quantitative models and data to evaluate our visual impression (Kansei) of lighting environment. We carried out four experiments and obtained useful results. These are expected to provide a scientific basis for lighting design.
