Research Abstract |
In recent years, optically pumped atomic magnetometers(OPAMs) have reached sensitivities comparable to and even surpassing those of super-conducting quantum interference devices(SQUIDs). In this study, we developed an ultrahigh-sensitivity OPAM as a magnetic sensor for an ultra-low field(ULF) MRI system, which can measure biomagnetic fields and magnetic resonance(MR) signals simultaneously. First, we demonstrated that our newly developed K-Rb hyblid OPAM achieved high sensitivity. In addition, we demonstrated measurements of human magnetocardiograms with our OPAM. Finally, we successfully detected MR signals using the OPAM.
