Research Abstract |
We studied several enhancement methods of luminance of evacuation guidance signs made of afterglow phosphorescent materials under the electric power failure and found that the most efficient way is to keep the phosphorescent materials in the excited state constantly by lamps installed for nighttime visibility until just before electric power failure. We also found that the fluorescent lamps with high color temperatures are most effective as an excitation light source.
