Research Abstract |
We found that NHE1 activation by hormones occurs via the lipicHnteracting domain (LID) which functions as a molecular switch. ATP, acidic phospholipids or diacylglycerol (or its potent analogue phorbol ester) directly binds to LID and modulate the NHE1 activity via conformational change of LID. In addition, NHE1 activation was found to promote calcineurin-NEAT signaling pathway via direct interaction of calcineurin with NHE1.
