Research Abstract

For the study of entry pathway of hepatitis B viruses, we have constructed novel hepatitis B virus vectors and attempted to identify the host molecules related to the entry pathway and to establish in vitro infection systems for these viruses. As the results, we could construct novel hepatitis B virus vectors containing secretion-type luciferases as reporter genes. Unfortunately, we could not identify the host molecules relate to DHBV infection, but we were able to find human hepatoma cell HuH7 as HBV susceptible cells under the culture condition containing 2% DMSO.
