Research Abstract |
We measured LINE-1 copy number in brains of patients with psychiatric disorders by Taqman-based PCR. We identified significant increase of LINE-1 copy number in brains of patients with schizophrenia in two different cohorts. This finding is well concordant with neurodevelopmental model of schizophrenia.
