Research Abstract

To establish a new technique of small scale bone augmentation for dental implant application without the reflection of periosteum, animal experiments were carried out using mixtures of Biopex-R (α-TCP) and several cytokines. Biopex-R and BMP-2, EGF, FGF-2, PDGF were mixed respectively and applied under rat calvarial periosteum using 18G needle. As a result of histological investigations, mixtures ofBiopex-R and BMP-2, EGF, PDGF showed better bone formation in comparison to Biopex-Ronly.
