Research Abstract

オートファジーはリソソームを分解の場とする細胞質成分の大規模な分解系である。本研究ではオートファジーの精子形成過程における生理機能を明らかにするために、精子細胞特異的にオートファジーを欠損するノックアウトマウスを作出した。このマウスは週齢依存的に不妊になることが分かった。さらにこのノックアウトマウスの精細管にはタンパク質の凝集体を含む不要成分の蓄積が観察された。オートファジーは精子形成過程における精子細胞質のリモデリングに関与する可能性が示唆される。
