Research Abstract |
In this study, we found that nanosecond pulsed electric field(nsPEF) caused apoptosis like death to cancer cells. nsPEF(120ns width) promoted Ca^<2+> influx to cytoplasm, and Ceramide was expressed on cell membrane. These factors activated endoplasmic reticulum stress signal and caused apoptosis. Moreover, Intense Burst Sinusoidal Electric Field(3-10MHz) cannot damaged cell membrane. In case of a certain low energy, it activated cell proliferation.
