Research Abstract |
Through life-story analyses of nameless Filipino pugilists, this research elucidated the mechanism of new international division of Sport labour. “Social production of losers” is a key concept to make deep inroads into the principles. This research also illuminated the social logic of the pugilists to accept their role expecting to lose. These outcomes are described in my ethnographic book, Local boxer to Hinkong sekai, published in 2012 by Sekai Shisousya.
