Research Abstract |
This study examined articles on reading in magazines for children published by Hakubunkan, a representative publishing company in the Meiji period. As a result, it was discovered that it was not always common for children's magazines to include "Shousetsu"(novels) and children's magazines tried to justify "Shousetsu" through pioneering a new genre.
