Research Abstract |
Transcriptions of Early Sutras were identified with the use of images.Work then proceeded onto interpreting these sutras in a joint project involving the fields of Japanese history, Japanese literature, Japanese language and Buddhism. The most important of these interpretations were published in academic magazines. This has enabled the acquisition of the fundamental conditions for using these as new historical records.
