Research Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of child maltreatment by employing quantitative analysis methods on the precedents for child injury cases in Japan. A principal component analysis(PCA) was employed on morphologized and categorized text-data of precedents for child injury cases in Japan. Results revealed that injury resulting in death cases tended to occur in single-parent families with one or more unemployed housemate.
