Research Abstract |
Photocontrol of electronic phases in solids, which is called photoinduced phase transition, is expected to be a useful mechanism for future ultfafast and high-repetition switching devices. In this study, we found the ultrafast photoinduced insulator-to-metal transitions in an organic charge-transfer molecular compound and a transition metal compound. Moreover, we demonstrated ultrafast optical switching by double-pulse excitation using the bidirectional photoinduced phase transition in a transition metal compound.
