Research Abstract |
In this study, several novel photosensitizers have been synthesized, and TiO_2 photoelectrodes sensitized by these novel sensitizers have been prepared to achieve an efficient solar-water-splitting system. Novel ruthenium photosensitizers having a natural dye as a ligand, or having an ortho-dicarboxyphenyl group as an anchoring unit have been successfully synthesized. In addition, the adsorption behavior of these photosensitizers for the TiO_2 surface has been investigated in detail, and the optimized conditions to prepare efficient dye-sensitized TiO_2 photoelectrodes have been decided.
