Research Abstract |
We have demonstrated the feasibility of metal-hardening using atmospheric-pressure plasma technology. Our new method enables plasma nitriding under atmospheric pressure in which, spraying the pulsed-arc plasma jet onto the surface of steel increases the surface hardness down to 100μm in depth.
